My Students:
Our students have a range of disabilities from cerebral palsy, fragile x, autism, adhd, Down syndrome and other varying disabilities that hinder them from learning in a classic learning environment. Each student has their own unique sensory and learning need and we feel it is our job to meet their physical, emotional and educational needs.
My Project:
Havencroft houses 2 CBR classrooms that services an average of 20 students with varying disabilities which often include behavior and sensory challenges. It takes creative planning to meet the individual needs of each student. We are fortunate to have a room separate from our classrooms where students can go if they need a break or need a change in environment to regroup and shift their focus back to learning. This creates a unique challenge every day which cannot be met on our budget.

Our students need materials they can access to meet their varying sensory and physical needs so they can be successful learners.
