My Students:
The students of FIRST Team 1710 make up a group of fantastic, bright kids. They come from a wide range of backgrounds. For example, one of our team members is an exchange student that traveled all of the way from Ukraine to Kansas in search of knowledge and experience. Additionally, our team is proud of a 40% female participation rate.
My Project:
FIRST Team 1710 is a robotics team that competes internationally. Our “build season” starts January 6th of 2018. Our students will work a total of 980 man hours per week for six weeks to build, design, and test a robot. Afterwards, our team will compete in regional competitions in hopes of qualifying for the world championship. We hope to be able to compete in a second regional in Cedar Falls, Iowa this year, but this comes with the heavy cost of registration for our team.
