My Students:
Any student may take my classes and be introduced to different opportunities in engineering and technology fields. They learn about the design process through hands on activities. My students tend to be about 20% female and range from all different economical and racial backgrounds. We are Title 1 and have 56% free or reduced lunch.
My Project:
The students have been working with computer programming software and building different robotic challenges with Fischertechniks. The supplies are getting older and showing their age. I have had them since 2008 and would like to update the supplies to newer robotic technologies. Using the VEX Robotics, the students will learn computer coding and be able to build robots to preform different real world tasks. They will be able to print using a 3D printer, supplies needed to preform those tasks.
My Students Need:
My students need these materials to connect math and science concepts to real world experiences, along with meeting the need to become a leader in future STEM problem solving.
