My Students:
Read 180 is a class of struggling readers. Students in this middle school class are reading far below grade level, some as far below as 1st grade. These students seldom read outside of class.
My Project:
The current Read180 library is shared between two classrooms and was originally purchased 14-16 years ago. Students have literally read the covers off of these paperback books. We would like to replace books that have fallen into disrepair and add more books to our library. Middle school students do "judge a book by it's cover" and a tattered cover can increase our students' lack of desire to read. Brand new books would generate students' interest and excitement toward reading.

My students need new books in order to foster both a joy of reading and pride in their abilities.
