My Students:
We have extremely inquisitive learners that expand their questioning minds on a daily basis with hands on/minds on labs and activities. These kids are engaged, fun loving and seem to really care about learning and pushing their inquiry to its limits. They are very aware of environmental issues and what may lie ahead for them.
My Project:
Knowing facts is one thing, being able to design, plan and build a working wind energy generator is a whole different level! With these monies, we will supply small groups of 8th grade engineers with the materials to build a working windmill capable of generating power. They will use PVC piping, DC. motors and their own innovative designs based on their research of windmill efficiency to build an electricity producing apparatus.
My Students Need:
Our students need the experience of designing, building and using real, working windmills so they can bring their learning into the now of alternative energy possibilities.
