My Students:
I teach Resource in a Title and ELL building. I see students for 30 minutes at a time. Since our time is limited it is crucial that students are prepared, ready to give their best effort, and be actively engaged for the entire lesson. I work with a lot of students that have attentional and sensory needs and it is hard to get them to stay focused.
My Project:
Education is no longer a one size fits all approach. My students are all very diverse in their needs and abilities. They need to be treated as individuals in what they learn and how they learn it. I want to provide them with a variety of learning positions in which they can be actively engaged and increase their productivity. I have noticed that my students tend to seek out what is comfortable for them and I would love to be able to give them more options.
My Students Need:
My students need a variety of seating options available to them as they try to find their optimal learning environment.
